
Michael Carey – Chairman of Traidlinks, Executive Chairman, Jacob Fruitfield Food Group
Michael Carey is the main shareholder and Executive Chairman of the Jacob Fruitfield Food Group (JFFG). Prior to establishing JFFG he was Managing Director of Kellogg’s (UK/Ireland) and Managing Director of Fox’s Biscuits. He is currently a non-executive director of Bord Bia’s Consumer Foods Board and Chairman of the Marketing Institute of Ireland. Michael is also Chairman of the Soul of Haiti Foundation.
Michael won the 2005 Ernst & Young Industry Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was named UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business 2010 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year.
Tony Barry – Managing Director, Barry’s Tea
Tony Barry is the fourth generation of the Barry family who has developed Barry’s Tea into one of Ireland’s leading tea wholesalers and blenders. Tony has played a key role in the expansion of the company, which has diversified into other areas over the past ten years. A chartered accountant, Tony Barry graduated from U.C.C. with a B. Comm.
Patrick Bitature - Chairman Uganda Investment Authority
Patrick Bitature is a distinguished and reputable investor in the Ugandan economy. He has recently been appointed Chairman of Uganda Investment Authority. In addition, Patrick is Chairman of the Gifted by Nature Project (an initiative to promote Uganda worldwide), Chairman of the SIMBA Group of Companies (telecoms – distributor of MTN and of NOKIA handsets), Chairman CMF MICRO FINANCE LTD, Director of New Vision Publication And Printing Ltd (and 2 radio stations) and Director of Uganda National Insurance Ltd. He is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute Of Secretaries and is proprietor of the new Protea Hotel in Kampala, Uganda. Patrick is currently working on a project with the aim of distributing electricity independently in Uganda.
Jim Corbe
tt – Managing Director, Bewley’s Limited
Jim Corbett is managing director of Bewley’s Ltd, Ireland’s leading ground coffee company and part of the Campbell Bewley Group. He is a food industry veteran having worked in Ireland and the United States in management positions with Kerry Group plc, Golden Vale plc. and Lakeland Dairies. Jim is a UCC Food Science graduate. He has been instrumental in the evolution of Bewley’s corporate responsibility and ethical trading programmes including the company’s participation in Traidlinks.
Liam FitzGerald – CEO, United Drug
Liam FitzGerald graduated from University College Dublin with an MBS degree in 1987 having graduated with a B.Comm a year earlier. Liam started his career in the Jefferson Smurfit Group plc graduate programme. After a number of years in various Divisions of the Smurfit Group, he spent a brief time in the advertising industry. He joined United Drug in 1993 and had responsibility for the Contract Distribution Outsourcing (CDO) business before being appointed to the Board in 1996. In that year, Liam also took responsibility for expansion of the Company’s CDO business into the UK market. Furthermore, he was instrumental in the strategic decisions to move into the Contract Sales Outsourcing (CSO) business, both in Ireland and the UK, and to develop the Medical & Scientific (M&S) business division internationally. In addition to his responsibilities in United Drug, Liam is a former chairman of The Marketing Society in Ireland. Liam is a non-executive director of C&C plc and has been CEO of United drug plc since 2000. Liam was the founding Chairman of Traidlinks (2006-2010).
Maurice Healy – CEO, Healy Group
Maurice Healy is Chief Executive Officer and founder of the Healy Group and a former President of IBEC, the Irish Business and Employers Confederation.
In 1994, he set up the Irish Chemical Marketers Association and was its founding and first President. Maurice also presided over FECC, the European Association of Chemical Distributors.
Maurice is a strong supporter of social entrepreneurship and the involvement of Irish business with social deprivation issues, especially those geared at education deficits.

Aidan Heave
y - Chief Executive, Tullow Oil plc
A founding Director and shareholder of Tullow, Aidan Heavey played a key role in the development of the Company from its formation in 1985, to its current international status as a leading independent oil and gas exploration and production group. A Chartered Accountant, he previously held roles in the airline and engineering sectors in Ireland.
In 2010, Aidan was named UCD Michael Quinn School of Business 2010 Outstanding Alumnus of the Year
