Working Together - Traidlinks enables people to help themselves.

Catalyst for growth

All Traidlinks’ activities are predicated on the recognition of the role Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) have to play in promoting sustainable economic growth in developing countries; a critical factor in both eradicating poverty and empowering people to help themselves.

Skills & Expertise

Agriculture and agricultural crops represent the mainstay of the Ugandan economy, with over 80% of the workforce employed in this sector. Because of the high potential agriculture and increased food production has to create a positive impact on the Ugandan economy, Traidlinks has chosen to work specifically with targeted SMEs in the food-processing sector, in order to contribute impact in a meaningful way. The Skills Exchange Programme indirectly supports the out growers who supply these businesses - who obtain a secure route to market for their produce and regular income, through greater demand for their crops, and the employees who attain greater job security and further opportunities to develop.

Putting our partners first

Any responsible aid intervention must be needs-driven.  This means that the needs of the Ugandan partners must be at the centre of all Traidlinks’ activities. The partnership for growth is a long-term process - building a good working relationship and identifying the needs of the organisation are crucial elements of Traidlinks’ Skills Exchange Programme.

Governance

Traidlinks’ Charter, based on the UN Global Compact, lays out the ethical principles upon which Traidlinks and any associated companies base their organisation’s values and operations. The Traidlinks Charter acts as the foundation of Traidlinks’ proposition to stakeholders and is a key component of Traidlinks’ commitment to transparency and responsible decision making. Traidlinks requires each participating company to adopt the principles of the UN Global Compact as their business code of ethics in line with Traidlinks’ Charter.
